National Pen Celebrates the Official Opening of New Contact Center in Montego Bay

RELEASED OCTOBER 2018

Global marketer and manufacturer of promotional products opens its first facility in the Caribbean with the creation of 190 jobs.

National Pen hosted an Opening Ceremony at the company’s newly-established Contact Center on Monday October 29th 2018. The organization's new Jamaican premises is located in the Mangrove Way area of the Montego Bay Freezone and has been in operation since August 2018. National Pen Jamaica currently employs over 190 people with plans for future growth and expansion. Staff in Montego Bay work across a variety of sales and support functions serving National Pen’s North American market, and the organization estimates that its headcount at the new facility will significantly increase in 2019. A Cimpress brand, National Pen markets a variety of promotional products to small- and medium-sized business.

“National Pen is growing internationally at an exceptional rate, and this expansion will help us to provide our North American customers with the best standard of service and care. The process of opening our new center here in Montego Bay has been exceptional and I’d like to thank all of those who supported us including our parent company Cimpress, our sister company Vistaprint, our new employees, local suppliers and agencies, and the broader local community. The availability of highly-skilled and committed employees here in Jamaica made it the ideal location for our new facility. As the business grows. we will investigate the possibility of further expansion in this region,” said National Pen CEO/EVP Peter Kelly.

Senior executives from National Pen attended Monday’s ceremony where Peter Kelly gave a speech and officiated the ribbon cutting ceremony. Honored guests and dignitaries from the local community also attended the event including Councillor Homer Davis, BPIAJ President Ms. Gloria Henry, and Hon Consul Brian J. Denning O.D Consul of Ireland to Jamaica.

Site Director Q. Andre Betton enthused, “…Montego Bay’s wide talent pool is drawn from across the island. This, combined with its richly diverse culture, native English language proficiency, and nearshore relationship to the North American market, makes it the ideal location to support National Pen’s global growth.” In agreement, BPIAJ President Ms. Gloria Henry said, “It is with great pleasure that we welcome National Pen–a top distributor of promotional products–to Jamaica. It is no coincidence that National Pen has taken the decision to locate in Jamaica, as we are indeed a world class location for ICT-related companies. We look forward to a partnership which will be beneficial to National Pen and Jamaica.”

National Pen hosted an Opening Ceremony at the company’s newly established Contact Centre on Thursday October 25th 2018. The organization's new Tunisian premises is located in the Les Berges du Lac 2 area of Tunis and has been in operation since August 2018. National Pen Tunisia currently employs 130 people with plans for future growth and expansion. Staff in Tunis work across a variety of sales and support functions serving National Pen’s European market, and the organization estimates that its headcount at the new facility will significantly increase in 2019. A Cimpress brand, National Pen markets a variety of promotional products to small- and medium-sized business.

“As we continue to grow internationally, this expansion will help us to provide our European customers with the best standard of service and care. I’d like to thank all of those who supported us throughout the process of establishing this facility including our parent company Cimpress, our sister company Vistaprint, our new employees, local suppliers and agencies, and the broader local community.
