Giving Back to The Wounded Warrior Project® with Basecamp® Promotional Camping Products

Giving Tuesday (#GivingTuesday) falls annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and is focused on charitable giving at the community level, globally, or anywhere in between. Participation in the cause includes monetary contributions, donations with purchase, and investments of time, goods, or services.

Judging from the numbers, it seems that following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, folks feel good about giving to non-profits and other worthy causes when Tuesday rolls around. Giving Tuesday started in 2012 and has steadily increased its impact, raising $10 million in 2012 and skyrocketing to $380 million by 2018.

For showing customer appreciation while supporting a non-profit that’s doing vital work, we like Basecamp® camping products and other Basecamp promotional products. Basecamp’s line of promotional products focuses on rugged, well-made gear for work, travel, sport, and play. A portion of proceeds from every sale of a Basecamp product is donated to the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) or to the Warrior Spirit Retreat. WWP is a platinum-rated non-profit dedicated to helping veterans and service members who have incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, including PTSD, while serving in the military. Warrior Spirit Retreat is a non-profit run by double-amputee-wounded Iraq War veteran Dan Nevins–a place where veterans learn to heal from the physical and mental wounds of military service.

In addition to a percentage of proceeds, Basecamp products are donated to WWP’s Backpacks Program, which provides wounded service members with backpacks when they arrive at military trauma units. The backpacks are filled with care and comfort items such as clothing, toiletries, playing cards, and more.
