Why Putting Your Logo on American-Made Products Is Good for Business

If you’re thinking about advertising your small business on made-in-the-USA promotional products, your timing could not be better! Check out stats from this 2020 survey 1 asking consumers about American-made products:

  • Around 70 percent of survey respondents said they prefer USA-made products.
  • More than 46 percent of respondents think made-in-America products are of better quality than those manufactured in other countries.
  • Sixty percent of respondents would pay more for a product made in the USA.

In addition to the compelling stats above, there is another reason why buying USA-made products is a smart choice when choosing branded products: Most consumers associate goods made in the USA with increased employment and a thriving economy. There is a direct link among your target audience between shopping local, buying made-in-USA products, and supporting families and neighbors in communities across the country. When you’re looking to promote your small business, local charity, youth sports team, or special event, American-made products allow you to attach your brand to a sense of local pride and national patriotism.

Not Just for Fourth of July

Buying USA-made products is a great way to celebrate summer holidays, including Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Labor Day weekends.  In fact, we have an entire Patriotic Collection that’s perfect for this purpose. But more and more, the decision to buy USA-made and locally-made products is a year-round priority. Rather than being a seasonally-informed action attached to parades, picnics, and big sales events, made-in-USA products represent an ongoing focus on a smaller carbon footprint, slower, more intentional lifestyle, and more meaningful purchases and merchant interactions.

What Products Are Made in America?

Made in USA products can be fully or partially made in the USA. A product is considered to be made in the USA if it is manufactured in the U.S. of more than 50 percent U.S. parts. If this percentage is lower, you will see verbiage like this: “Parts of this product are made in the USA.” You may also see this: “Made in the USA of U.S. and imported parts.”

You might be wondering where you can find USA-made products. In most cases, you need to look at individual products to determine which are made in the USA, which are partially made in the USA, and which are made in another country. In some cases, a company will give you a hand by curating a selection of made-in-America products.

With Pens.com, for instance, you’ll easily be able to identify USA-made or partially made products in nearly any promotional products category you’re exploring. Our made-in-the USA collection includes all the most popular and effective categories of customized products, including drinkware, totes, pens, stationery, games, and much more. Below are a few winning America-made products that are designed to engage your customers and promote your small business for your special event and all year round.

Buying American or Buying USA?

It is preferred to use the term “made in USA” vs “made in America” when referring to where a product is made. This is because America may refer to North America, including countries other than the USA like Canada or Mexico. It is better to specify “USA-made products” rather than using the term “American-made products” when you mean USA specifically and not North America in general.

Have fun promoting your brand as you support U.S. companies within your community and across this beautiful country.
